Lots of FUN!

Luke and I have had a lot of fun this past week.  Luke has been working in Salt Lake for a week and a half, so Saturday, I drove down to visit him.  On the way, I stopped at Marianne's baby shower for her little girl, Jordynn.  She is such a cute little baby!  It was so fun to visit with old friends and just have fun hanging out together again.
For our remaining Saturday activities, Luke and I spent the day car shopping.  We have been looking for a while and trying to get  our Jeep sold.  After some very long hours, exchanging numbers with sneaky salesmen, we worked out a great deal and left with this beauty!
We absolutely love the car and have had so much fun with it already.  It's amazing some of the features that a "new" car has compared to our older models.  We would love to take anyone around for a spin, just give us a call.
Luke's been working on the basement again.  We didn't want to finish up the drywall until we had all the duct work for the heating.  I'm so glad Luke knows all these handy things around the house.  He's worked so hard on it and I'm proud of him for learning how to do it and doing it!

Happy Birthday Steve

Steve turned the big 2-6 on the 12th.  He picked a Thai restaurant, which was surprisingly pretty good.  I'd never had Thai food before, so I didn't really know what to expect.  We had a lot of fun eating and talking, and we probably wore out our welcome at the restaurant.
We had celebrated earlier this month and here's Steve showing off our awesome present to him.
My great friend, Lisa, is having a baby next month, so I drove down for her shower this last week.  It was so good to see her and I'm so excited for her to have a cute little one soon.  It was so fun to get together with old friends that I grew up with.  Hopefully we won't wait so long next time to get together.
Luke and I spent our Valentine's Day on the snowy slopes of Brighton ski resort.  It was such a perfect day with fresh powder and hardly anyone there - I guess Valentine's Day isn't that big of a day for them.
And what would Valentine's Day be without some beautiful red roses.  Thanks sweetie for a wonderful day.  I love you!

A short catch-up

Since I've been such a blog slacker lately, I will just start with the most recent and we'll have to go from there.
A few months ago, my brother downloaded a bunch of his "locked" pictures onto my laptop.  While I enjoy seeing pictures of his friends all the time, I cannot delete these pictures at all!  I have no idea how to get rid of them.  If anyone can help, please let me know.  They're taking up so much room that I can't download my pictures.... that's my maid excuse for not blogging - I just can't do it without pictures.

Yesterday I got to skip out on the last 2 hours of church with the young women in our ward.  No, we didn't go get slurpies or anything.  We had the bishops approval to go down to Salt Lake for the annual Interfaith Concert.  I was really impressed.
There were musical numbers from a bunch of local religions.  It was really need to see how different cultures express their religious beliefs.
Two muslim girls sat behind me and it was interesting to hear some of their comments.  One of the musical numbers was sung by the muslims and the jews.  I heard one of them say, "that was probably the first time in the world that that has happened."  It made me so much more aware of the conflict between people, cultures, and countries.  We are so lucky to live in peaceful place.
While I enjoyed all the productions, it really strengthened my testimony that I am a member of the only true church on this earth.  After the LDS children's choir sang, I heard the muslim girls whisper "wow."  I don't think they were the only ones that felt the spirit in the tabernacle that night.  It was truly an amazing experience.

Draper Temple

I had the chance to go through the Draper Temple Open House with the young women in our ward.  It was such a neat experience and really great to have the girls be able to see rooms in the temple they normally wouldn't.  The temple was so beautiful and peaceful.  The decorating inside was so simple, yet so elegant.
Even though it was raining all day, it was so beautiful and stood out against the grey, clouded sky.
As other girls can testify, long car rides can get a little crazy...

... And boring at times

Don't worry, this wasn't a real threat.  We yelled across the freeway to the other cars full of girls and had fun giggling and being silly.

Mother Goose

For those of you that don't know about Mother Goose, she comes on New Years and brings gifts to the family.  Mother Goose got lost this year because Santa passed the message that we were in Bountiful during Christmas.  So, she finally made it around and we were excited.  She brought us some new shoes, a Blue Ray player and Iron Man.  So far, we've really enjoyed everything.
The moon has been really bright the past few nights.  I woke up in the middle of the night with the moon shining right in my eyes.  I tried to catch it on film, but I think it needs some work.  Plus it's hard when I'm half asleep.
And since I haven't talked about the cats in a while, I figured I'd throw this in here.  Monster is very fashion savvy and I think she's right when she says this belt really brings out the colors in her eyes.

Blog Issues

As you can tell, I'm attempting to change my blog background.  It has successfully erased all my contacts and I am in the process of finding them again and getting them on my page.  So, if you notice that you are not on my contact list and you were before, either be patient and wait until I do, or you can post your blog address to make it a little easier.  Until then, enjoy the boring blog.

Here are some Temple Square Christmas light pictures for your viewing pleasure.  And one cute one of my mom.
