Finishing Touches

If you look close, you can see that the overhang of the roof ( I think it's called the soffit) is actually black.  I got the idea from a realtor.  The trim around the garage door is black too.
This is the back patio.
The counter tops are in.  I think we're going to go with black appliances.

I'll update soon with the finished product - carpet and all.

Happy Birthday Megan

My cousin, Megan, turned 22 this year!  Yea!  I think this is the only picture of Brian I have where he is actually smiling.
My mom really likes kid toys.  She took this one away from Nathan (right corner) and made him cry.  Just kidding.  My mom would never do such a thing.  And I don't think Nathan was crying, but it does look like it... a little.

Almost done!

The siding was started this week.  I contemplated leaving the house with these beautiful shades of white and blue.  The contractor told me it wouldn't hold up real great in bad weather though.
So I figured it would be alright to put the actual siding on.  The color is called sage.  I figured it would look more green, but it's turning out to be a nice neutral color.  We are doing black and white accent colors.  You can barely see the black around the garage, but it looks really cool.
The paint is finished.  This is the view in the front living room looking up the stairs to the bedrooms.
Our kitchen doesn't have counter tops yet, but the cabinets are in.  We're going with a dark grey, almost black textured counter top.  Hopefully it turns out cool.
This is the view coming down the stairs that you saw in the picture of the front room.
I think I've showed this view before, but not it's painted and tiled.  This is the master bedroom.
If anyone wants a cute new house in Logan, it's for sale for $179,000.  1450 sq feet are finished and there is about 450 sq feet unfinished in the basement.  There are no homes behind our house, so the views out the back will be great.  And there are a lot of little upgrades we've done that make the home really unique.

White Trash Weekend

Nothing quite bring joy to my heart like a Demolition Derby.  Maybe it's the fact that I get to act completely white trash for a few hours.  Or maybe it's watching old cars become mangled hunks of metal.  Whatever the reason, I can't help but smile and cheer from start to finish.
I couldn't get my video of the trucks to work.  It really is a bummer because the video was awesome!  For those interested, the next derby's are July 12th and Sept 6th.  Everyone is welcome, just let us know ahead of time that you are coming and we'll save some extra seats.  See you there!

Fence Golf

The weather was finally nice enough to break out the ol' Fence Golf.  That's what we like to call it anyway.
This is our landlord Mark and his oldest daughter, Isabele.  They were on different teams so the competition was pretty tough.  Isabele is a pretty serious player.
Luke and Isabele were on a team and Mark and Becky were on a team.  As you can see, she has the technique down pretty good.
This is Gabriella.  She enjoyed the Sit-n-Spin much more than Fence Golf.

Snowmobiling

I had my first snowmobiling experience a couple weeks ago.  I never knew it could be so much fun!  I know the mountain probably doesn't look like much but it is tall and very steep.  I can't believe some of the hills these machines can climb.
My boss' took us.  Working with a bunch of construction guys makes for an interesting trip.  They are good guys, but interesting to say the least.
This is Carlye and I overlooking the Smithfield Valley.  This was on Mt. Naomi, the highest peak in Cache Valley.  You could see everything from up there!
Overall, snowmobiling was awesome and I will definitely go again.

I'm still here

I just wanted to let you know that I have not forgotten about blogging. My laptop power cord fried so I have no power to my computer. Once I purchase another, there will be lots of new things! Until then, hope everyone is well. :)
