Weddings, Easter and more

It's hard to keep all these web pages updated. Facebook, blogs, etc. I finally have some free time to update a little bit.
On March 14th we finally blessed Dax. I know babies usually get blessed at a much younger age, but we waited because Luke's brother Jake planned his wedding for St Patrick's Day and we wanted all the family to be there. It turned out to be a great day. For being 4 1/2 months, Dax did great and didn't make a peep. Thanks to everyone that was able to make it. We really appreciate your support and had a great time seeing everyone.
As I mentioned, the wedding was on St Patrick's Day but the reception was the night before. It was so much fun to have all the family together for a few days. Everyone looked so cute in their green, brown and white.

Wednesday was a wonderfully sunny day for a wedding. The ceremony was simple but beautiful and Jake and Kara looked great. As is tradition now, we went to Rodizio's for the wedding luncheon. Super delicious! It was just a great day all around.
I was able to attend the Young Womens General Broadcast the week before Conference. It was an amazing meeting and was the spirit was so strong! I walked out just thinking "Wow!" It's funny how we get so caught up in the day-to-day things that we forget the really important stuff. I understand now why conference is as often as it is. I definitely need the spiritual reminder.
Dax is growing up so fast and we are loving him at 5 months! I love this picture because it totally shows off his little belly. Why is it that chubby babies are so cute yet being a chubby adult is not so cute? It would be a lot simpler and less work if being chubby was trendy. Someday perhaps...
I thought he looked super cute in this yellow jacket so I started snapping pictures. And he was really cooperating while I took pictures so I got a couple good ones. Can you tell he needs a hair cut?
I know this one is kind of blurry, but love how happy he is in it! He is smiling so much these days and laughing more often. I love that he's such a mellow, happy kid.
I found a Bumbo on KSL. It was definitely worth the money. Thanks to those who left comments and helped me make the decision to get one. Dax loves being able to sit up and have a change in view from laying down or being held.
Easter was great this year. We decorated eggs with Justin, Jake and Kara. I never knew that if you use Vaseline, the color won't soak onto the egg. We had a lot of fun expressing our creativity.

After Conference, we went to my grandparents house in Bountiful for dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt! No matter how old I get, I'm still so excited to find the eggs. I'm glad I'm still considered one of the kids and that I get to gather. I'm sure it's fun to hide eggs too, but I'll stick to finding for as long as I can.
Dax's first Easter Egg Hunt. He found so many eggs he had to keep them in his pockets :)

Well, there's a little March update to carry you through until next month. One of these days we'll stay on top of things. Farewell.

Bumbo???

Dax is getting to the age where sitting is desirable. I however, don't have a desire to spend $40 on one of these. Does anyone have one that they would be willing to loan me for a few months? Or if anyone knows of a way to get them cheaper, let me know. Thanks!

4 months!

As long as this posts on March 1st, then it is true to the title. I've totally become one of those parents who has a kid and that's all they ever blog about. Guilty. Well, for those who care, this is what Dax is doing now as of 4 months old:

-sleeps from 9:30 pm to 9:00 am (eats at 4 and 7 am usually)
-smiles a ton! and gets bashful after smiling at you
-giggles occasionally, we're working on getting this more frequent
-lifts his legs up, tips to one side and does this over and over until he's rotated all the way around
-loved formula from the first taste
-chews on his fingers and drools like crazy
-has very stinky toots
-loves to explore other peoples hands (as long as they're clean)
-grabs the toys on his floor gym and tries to eat them
-gets very excited, body stiffens and appendages flail about
-talks a lot, too bad we don't know what he's saying
-hates laying on his tummy, he can't push himself up yet
-loves his bath time
-puts his hands over his eyes and face when he's tired
-rubs his silky blanket
-loves his binky, probably more than anything else
-loves being kissed
-trying to master standing up

I'm sure I could keep going, but since Grandma is probably the only one reading this, and she already knows all of them, I'll stop there. We have his 4 month appointment in a week, so I'll post his weight, height and head size then. Until then, enjoy this pictures from his 3 month photo shoot.

Thanks Linds!

Lindsey got some great shots of Dax the other night. Here's a little smile:
And as hard as I try to keep the binky in his mouth and fingers out... it just doesn't work. I guess it's better than sucking his thumb though.

What's not to love?

I love this little guy! I mean, who wouldn't want to to kiss these squishable cheeks?
Dax is getting to be so much fun! He smiles a ton, but I have yet to get a good smile on camera. My camera has an orange light before it takes a picture, which is enough to distract Dax which ends all the smiles. Someday I'll get a good one.
I love when Dax lounges with Dad. He loves all the manly things that Dad does: watching football and basketball, killing bad guys in video games, etc. As much as I've tried to turn him on to Chick-Flicks, he just likes the manly action movies. I don't get it.
I've gone back to work part-time and it's so much fun coming home to his little happy face! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!

Happy Holidays

Well, I certainly have a lot of catching up to do. We've been busy the past month and there's a little summary of what we've been up do.

Lisa and Brent celebrated their 5 year anniversary at the beginning of the month and came up to Logan, so we got to see them. We went to lunch and then bowling. It was so great to see them and have a fun day. And Dax loved the black lights a the bowling alley.
Lindsey put in her time at USU and made it to graduation. I know how long and hard of a road it is to finish school, so I'm proud of her for doing it. Congrats Linds!
Snowboarding is becoming an expensive hobby so when we heard about Brighton having a $15 day pass, we couldn't pass it up. It was a beautiful day on the mountain and a great day of snowboarding. It was nice to get out of the house and get some good exercise too.
We spent Christmas this year in South Dakota with Luke's family. We spent a week with them plus and extra day because of bad weather. It was such a fun week laughing, playing games, rocking out on Rock Band, and just hanging out. As you can tell, Kara was loving this round of video games.
We did a white elephant gift exchange on Christmas Eve. I was the proud owner of a book about fishing. Wow, I'm sure you can hear the excitement in my voice. Luckily, Dennis is a huge fan of fishing and wanted to trade for his awesome prize... Superman underpants. Since both meant nothing to me, I figured trading wouldn't hurt. But the cost was that he had to pose before he gave the underpants away. I might have to use that for blackmail later.
My big gift this year was the Wii! It has been so much fun playing games that everyone can do together. Luke's brother brought over Super Mario Brothers and that was a blast playing with 4 people. We ended up buying the game because it was so much fun.
We came home for a week after South Dakota and then headed to Midway, UT for another week of vacation. We had a free trip from listening to one of those time-share things, so we figured local would be the easiest with a small child.
Near the resort was what we named Christmas World. I don't know where it came from exactly, but that's what Lindsey named it. It was a bunch of structures made with water fountains that would drip and then freeze. Very cool and very time consuming.
My parents, Lindsey and Tyler came to the resort as well and we celebrated Christmas a week late. As you can tell from the loot below, Dax got really spoiled. OK, not all of them were his, but he did get spoiled. His grandparents gave him a ton a books that he loves looking at! Thanks for spending a few days with us.
Thanks to Warren Miller, we had a ski day at The Canyons. It wasn't as good of snow as Brighton was, but still a great day. Jake and Kara came along with us. It's always fun to snowboard with a group.
This is the resort where we stayed. All the buildings were Switzerland themed. It felt like a little village in the mountains.
So that pretty much sums up what we've been up to the past month. Hope that everyone had happy holidays!

Pictures for the Grandparents

I decided to do a post with just pictures of Daxton that way I wouldn't have to talk about him in every post that I write while trying to catch up on events of the past month. They are in order by age - I don't know if you can tell a difference, but he looks older to me. Hope you enjoy!
Also, his 2 month stats are as follows:
Weight 12 pounds 10 ounces (66 percentile)
Length 24 inches (80 percentile)
Head 15.4 inches (25 percentile)
