The big debut

Here's the moment you've all been waiting for. Daxton Luke Nesbit is here! He was born November 1st - so today is his 1 week birthday. It was a long labor (almost 19 hours) but thank goodness for epidurals! He was 8 pounds 6 ounces and 19.5 inches long. I never would've guessed I was carrying something that big in my belly!
We are so happy he is here! He is such a great and happy baby. We are all still getting used to each other and eventually we'll have it all figured out. He sleeps pretty good and usually wakes up every 3 hours for some food. He makes the cutest little grunting noises.
Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure:

He is my little sweetheart :)

Belly pics, baby room and more

Luke thinks I'm silly for taking pictures in the same outfit, but I wanted to see the true comparison of baby's growth.  The first picture was wtih about 8 weeks left.  The second picture is just over a week left.  So yeah, I would say baby has still been growing.  Soon he will be here!  Now we just have to decide on a name.

We got baby's room all ready to go.  Crib... check.  Changing table... check.  Rocking chair... check

Proper installation of carseat... check... oh wait a second!  We saw this one night while we were out.  Not quite sure what these people were thinking.  I don't think their children will last very long in this world.
We do have a car seat, but it is yet to be installed properly.  That is what we are working on this week.
We celebrated Luke's birthday at my parents house this Sunday.  My mom and dad got him a bunch of cool shirts as well as a manly diaper bag so that he doesn't have to carry my girly ones around.  He was pretty excited.
And since we haven't had a "Twin Kitty" picture in a while, here's one for you.  I know you'll all been axiously awaiting that one.
Hopefully my next post will be with a baby in my arms rather than inside my belly!!!

The showers

It's been a fun past few weekends!  Hope threw me a shower in Logan with ward friends and some great friends we've made since living here.  Thank you everyone that came!  It was so fun to be with good friends and get some fun goodies for the little guy who is just around the corner.

I hope these girls don't mind, but this was is my belly as of September 26th.  I'll try to get a more recent one up soon.

Notice the look of confusion on my face?  I'm such an airhead that I opened this thinking it was a hat.  I wondered to myself "How is this supposed to stay on his head?"  I was then informed that it is a Pee-pee Tee-pee.  Ya know, to keep the pee from going everywhere when I'm changing diapers.  Genious!
And what a cute way to give diapers as a gift!  I will never be that creative!
And what female gathering would be complete without delicious food?  Thanks to Hope and my mom, we had some great munchies!
This weekend, Lisa threw me a shower with our friends from our high school and college days.  Here's the group of everyone that was there.  Thanks to those who came and made the day so much fun.  It was so fun to see you guys and your little ones that came.
Lisa did such a cute job decorating!  We had super yummy food, cute clothes hanging around the  gazebo, and "It's a boy" signs.  She went all out with games and party favors.  It was such a blast!  And the weather was perfect to be outside!

Lisa, thanks for all the work you put into it and thanks again for everyone who came.  Baby celebrations are so much fun!

Retreat

Our ward did a Relief Society Retreat last weekend and it was such a blast.  Our challenge for the overnight retreat was to read the whole Book of Mormon.  We split up and each read 22 pages and we actually got it all done!  It was fun to have some quiet time reading and be able to work together to read the entire Book of Mormon.
Here's the group that was able to be there.  It was so much fun getting to know some of the ladies in the ward a little better.
We had some fun get-to-know-you games and some great spiritual uplifting.
And the scenery was beautiful.  This is the same camp where we had Girls Camp, only this time it wasn't raining - thank goodness.
The hike was gorgeous in the canyon with the leaves starting to change colors.  I love fall!
Angela, Hope and I were buddies during the trip.
After coming home to a much needed shower and nap - yes, both were necessary - the excitement really started at the Demolition Derby.  If you've read my blog, you know how much I love the derby's.  Gotta love the crunching metal, flipping cars, and dirt flying in your face!
Luke even got off work early enough to make it to part of it.
And just in case you were worried that I was the crazy-picture-taking-maniac in my family.... you're wrong.  I do like taking pictures, but obviously not as much as my brother and sisiter!  OK, well maybe we are all picture maniacs.
Steve is now in Scotland for the next year with his lovely wife, so we won't be seeing many pictures of him for a while.  Try not to have too much fun without us.

Let the countdown begin

Less than 8 weeks people!  This is getting very exciting!  I still have a ton of work to do to get little baby's nursery ready, but hopefully I'll have enough time.
We've gotten a TON of hand-me-down clothes so I'm pretty sure I won't have to do any clothes shopping for the first year.  I'm guessing that it's diaper shopping that I'll have to do.
I haven't intentionlly hid the belly, I just don't have many pictures with it in there.  But here's one for those of you that haven't seen it already.

Introducing...

Mr and Mrs Steven Grant and Kristen Kathleen Adams
They were married in the Bountiful Temple on September 3rd for time and eternity.  It was such a beautiful day and a beautiful wedding.

After pictures at the temple, we had a luncheon at Joy Luck Chinese.  It was so delicious!  Nothing beats great Chinese food.  The reception was at The Officers Club on University of Utah campus.
Kristen did all the flower arrangements, which were beautiful.

Me and groom

I was concentrating so much on throwing the little beads in the air that I only got Kristen in the picture.  It was such a fun day and we're so excited to have Kristen part of our family.
Congrats on the great day and many to come in the future.
