Girls Camp 2009

I know I'm pretty late in posting this, since it happened in June, but since I've been a blog slacker, this is what you'll get.  We went to Camp Lomia up Logan Canyon.
It was really a lot of fun to hang out with the young women and get to know them better.  We had to put up with some crummy weather, but we still found fun things to do.  The clouds in the mountains made me feel like I was in the Twilight movies!  Very exciting.

We snapped this of most of the girls when there wasn't too much rain.

Our young woman President twisted her ankle pretty good the first day.  It swelled up nicely.  I was the lucky one that got to drive her to the emergency room.  Lots of fun for day #1.
The easiest way to get her around after that was in the wheel barrow.  It sure was quick, but she didn't like the extra attention.
Finally on the last day, the weather was nice enough that we went on a hike and had some fun playing games and goofing around.

Cat-sitting

We watched a kitten for a couple in our ward.  They have been nice enough to feed our cats when we've been out of town, so it was time to return the favor.
Meet Cody:
He's only about 4 months old and was cute as can be.  He enjoyed our cats company, when they let him near them, but I think he enjoyed us more.  His first experience with other cats wasn't so great, so he was a little defensive, which my cats didn't like.  After a few days, they got used to each other though.
Mow-Mow mostly kept to herself.  She didn't much care for Cody.  Well, now we know that it's not the best idea to mix cats that are established and set in their ways.  Next time we'll just go over to their house to feed him.

Weekend Fun

Last weekend we made it up to Bear Lake for the first time this summer.  We camped with the Hansen's on some of Luke's mom's property.  Other than all the mosquitos, camping was great.  And the views were gorgeous.
Saturday morning we went to Luke's mom's house and made breakfast on the outside fireplace.  Pretty much any food made on that thing is delicious.  Macie had fun with the rocks and really enjoyed carrying this big one around.
She got tired of how long breakfast was taking, so she figured the rock would be a good substitute.  Luckily it never fell on her little toes.
Cute Macie ready to swim.
Macie and her dad in the water.
Dustin, Hope and Macie.  Dustin's brother Ethan came too.  He was swimming most of the time, so I didn't get any pictures.
Luke and I enjoying the rays... or lack thereof.  Despite the cloudy weather, there were some serious sunburns.
Luke was swimming most of the time, as he usually does.  He loves the water!  Don't swim with him unless you are planning on getting really wet... he'll pull you in.
And no summer weekend would be complete without a demolition derby!  This is the first one we've gone to this year.  It was a blast as usual.  Even if the show is no good, it's always a good reason to get together with long lost friends... and rednecks.

Progress

Well, here's a beautiful picture of our little fetus at only 7 weeks old.
And such a development 2 weeks later!
But this is definitely my favorite.  I love his little profile.  So cute!  I can't wait until he's here to see what he'll really look like!
He's been kicking around quite a bit.  I notice it consistently when I lay down for bed at night.  That's usually the only time he isn't squished.  I love feeling him kick and squirm around!

And the verdict is...

Well, 7 of you that voted were correct.  We are having a BOY!!!  I'm super excited!  When I first thought about having a boy, I didn't really get excited.  But then I realized, it's still going to be fun to shop and get cute little outfits.  My other kids will have an older brother, like I did.  We'll have the first grandson to carry on the Nesbit name.  Plus he'll be super studly, so what's not to love?  I'll scan in the ultra sounds and post them later.  So until then, feel free to post any cute boy names.  That will be the hard part!

THE VOTE

Well folks.... It's time for a vote.  Luke and I will be finding out the gender of our child next Tuesday.  So it's time to decide.
Will I be dressing a studly little boy???
Or a sweet adorable girl???

Rock Climbing

Our neighbors have gottne pretty into rock climbing, and since it's something we like to do anyway, we usually all go together.  There are some great canyons here in Cache Valley for rock climbing and we've had a couple great weekends so far.
Here's Luke giving me strange looks before he made his climb up the wall.
He was successful, as always.
Here's Dustin at the top of a different climb.  He got the rope hooked in at the top and then had to repell down.  He was a little worried about coming over that first ledge.  He was brave though and made it with no problems.
Here's talented Hope talking on the phone while climbing.  I never knew she had that sort of talent.
Macie is even a natural at climbing, just like her mom Hope.  Look at that grip of death!  Such a pro.
Brighton even wanted in on some of the fun.  Anything to be next to his girlfriend, Macie.
I usually don't climb since I'm not sure if it's OK while being prego.  I keep forgetting to ask when I go to the doctor.  I have still have fun hanging out with the gals, Hope and Angela.
I even got a new hair-do while everyone else was climbing.  It was well worth it.
