The ground has been broken

Well, the excavators broke ground today.  I was so excited!  I stuck around and watched for a while, but then felt silly for taking so many pictures.  I'm just excited to see the process coming along.  I hope you are all as excited as I am to watch the progress.

They got all the digging done that they started on the footings.  I try to pretend like I know what is going on, but mostly I just smile and nod.

Lots to share P.S. Happy Easter

My little sister is getting married!  Many of you may recognize the handsome fellow as Tyler Coy, from the Viewmont graduating class of 2003 (Go Vikings!).  They were engaged March 22.  They are getting married on August 7th.  We are so excited for them!
This is her beautiful ring.  It's in 2 pieces so she can wear either one.  I think it's gorgeous.
My cousin Connor turned 10 this month.  We celebrated his birthday on Easter.  I think his little brother was enjoying the moment in the spotlight a little more than him.  So silly!

So, unless you're a fan of the 70's, you probably won't know who this is.  It's Livingston Taylor (James Taylor's brother) and he's famous, and I met him this weekend.  He came over to my mother-in-laws house before going out to dinner.  I really feel like this picture captures his character.  He is really funny!  Just wanted to share my moment of fame.

My sister-in-law, Nikki (the one strangling her children) drove out to Salt Lake from South Dakota just to see us on Easter.  Her oldest, Jaiden, is 10 and Syrus is 7.  He'll be getting baptized in August.  And that's my mother-in-law observing her grandchildren's death from the background.

While staying at my mother-in-laws house this Easter weekend, she had the most beautiful flowers.  It was so nice to see some bright colors that are so refreshing compared to this dull winter we've been seeing so much of lately.  Here's a few pictures that turned out cool.

After a long weekend (2 nights) of being gone, Mow-Mow was determined to keep us from going anywhere.  I'm pretty sure it would be difficult to move that bag right now.

I know this doesn't look like much, but this is the future home of ... our home!  We are building a house through my work (I work for a general contractor).  Now before you get too excited, we are actually putting this home up for sale.  I know it sounds weird to build a house and not even live in it, but we can build this one, sell it and use the profits to build one that we would actually want to live in.  More updates to come.

Future Nascar Stars

I have the wonderful calling to be a Den leader for the cub scouts in our ward.  I actually really enjoy it.  It has been my favorite calling so far.  We had the pinewood derby tonight.  The kid who got first place is on the front row on the far left.  His name is Hunter.  He was so nervous that he wouldn't even smile when he won.  Hilarious!

After a strenuous pinewood derby, I headed to a kickboxing class.  I can't believe how much fun it was.  Who would've thought you could actually have fun while working out?

My sister-in-law came into town so I met her and my husband at the local rock climbing gym.  We had some fun climbing around.  She actually climbs at my level, so it was fun to climb with someone doing the same stuff as me.  Not that I don't love climbing with Luke, but he's so much better, it's mostly him telling me what to do.

Overall, I really feel like I got my workout for the day.  Too bad I can't be that dedicated everyday.

Invite Please

No pictures today, sorry.  I have found links to some blogs that are invites only.  I am sad to say that I don't have current emails to these lucky folks.  I really want to see what is going on with you guys (Marianne, Brooke) so if you will email me an invite, I would love it!  nnesbit2@hotmail.com

So I know this is in no way creative and certainly shows my lack of cooking skills, but I made jello today and topped it off with marshmallows.  It was so delicious!  I see all these creative and fun recipes and will try them someday.  But for now it will just be jello and mallows.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Everyone is Irish on St Patty's Day - Mostly to avoid the pinch!  We enjoyed some delicious corned beef and cabbage.  I've never actually had that meal until this year and surprisingly, I really like it.  There's nothing like topping off the day with green clover sugar cookies.  We hope everyone had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day.

I have so many pictures from the past 3 years.  Here are a few for your enjoyment. We love Aggie Basketball.  Luke and his brothers would get so psyched for the games, that they would show up 3 hours just to get in line so they could get front row seats.  Talk about dedicated.  His brother holding the towel is Zach, Jake is the blond, almost bald one, and their cousin Jeremy is in the bottom right.
This was before having the luxury of a washer and dryer in our home.  While this may not have been the proper use for a commercial grade dryer, it sure was fun to get inside.  It's pretty roomy.  I'm sure our clothes enjoyed the extra space.

As some of you may know, my husband, Luke is from South Dakota.  Some of you may be asking yourself, "What in the world is even in South Dakota?" And you others may be saying to yourself, "Well, duh, can't you see that picture? Mt Rushmore is in South Dakota."  That's right.  About 30 minutes from my husbands childhood memories is the famous rock.  And don't bother wasting your time, we already found the City of Gold.  National Treasure actually made a documentary about us.

Luke and I love the Demolition Derby's that come to Logan in the summer time.  And as you can tell from those sitting by us, they love the derby as well.  There will be more pictures to come as summer rolls around.  If anyone else out there are fans of the Demolition Derby's, Logan puts on a great show.  I have yet to be disappointed.  I'll put postings up as the events get closer and we would love to have you join us.

This is a tribute to my brother and sister.  Steve is currently in Taiwan teaching English to cute little Kindergartners (check out his blog for more details).  Lindsey is in lovely Cache Valley with us attending Utah State University - Go Aggies!!!

This is Tim Peterson.  He is a good family friend of the Nesbit's.  However, to him, friends is just not good enough.  He loves us Nesbit's so much, he wants to be part of the family.  Since he's too chicken to ask out Luke's single sister, he has proclaimed himself God-father of our cat.  I guess that's one way to be part of the family.
I was making pancakes one night and Mow-Mow decided she wanted to sit on my shoulders and watch.  It was so funny because she actually sat still the whole time while I poured, flipped and buttered all the pancakes.  At least now I have someone else to help me make pancakes next time.

Both of these pictures were during her phase when she wanted to be on your back all the time.  It took so much effort to get on my shoulders, it wore her out!  I love that little face.

I got nothing right now

Here are two pictures, and only one can go on to become Philippines next top model. I am sorry I had to write that because Natalie loves that show and I despise it. Anyway, one of these is my brother serving a mission in the philippines and the other is a crazy monkey. They both look so much alike I can't tell. I just wanted to post something on our super cool blog thing.

Our cat

This is our kitty.  We call her Mow-Mow.  She is about a year old and very playful.  She likes to hide inside things and jump out at you.  She thinks she's hiding, even though you can see her.  I know that cats aren't as cute as kids, but since we don't have kids yet, you get to see pictures of my kitty.

Bloggers, here we come...

Well, I've finally given in and started a blog.  I am surprised to find how many people are doing this.  I never felt like our life was exciting enough to share, but we hope you enjoy the pictures and random thoughts.  We would love you to share your own blogs and comments with us.
